Flashing WinVNC icon

Post by MBV »

I would like to request for a flashing WinVNC icon when a client connects. You could have options for flashing for a few seconds/minutes or until the client disconnects.

Maybe even a popup balloon on 2000/XP machines.

negative, the icon already changes colors to alert the server that someone has connected. If such options do get added, I would like to have some kind of option flag to turn them off.

I agree with Francisco -- negative for the flashing tasktray icon! The existing color change is elegant and simple.

I think it would be nice the popup balloon or something similar, so the users can see if someone has connected. Even another balloon on disconnecting.

A flashing icon all the time would consume bandwith and is unnecesary if the user gets notified by the ballons and the icon color change.

In my opinion, a user MUST know someone is entering his computer, even the administrator. I assume Ultr@VNC is an admin tool, not spyware.

My 2 cents.

My clients always comment on the icon color change when we access the pc. They love it. I looks professional.

my 2 cents.

Not only that, but if a client is watching, and using the video hook driver, the screen blanks for a second when connecting.

I agree the popup balloon or something similar is a good idea.
The flashing icon is a bad one.

However the Accecpt/Reject query is the best way to make the users feel secure that they aren't beeing spied upon.
