Restrictions

Post by Jncocontrol »

Is it possible, or already possible to restrict access to certain parts of my computer to people whom access my computer.

i use UltraVNC for multiply purposes 1 is to use my computer as a dedicated server on some days. Yet i sometimes do not trust some of the ppl who go though my computer. yet i'd feel alot more comfortable if we had stuff like area restrictions on the hosted computer.

no, is not part of ultravnc and is not necessary.
you need to set user account properly for restrict access to folder and software.

Hmmm, this is 2008 message. Has this been added because what this philosophy suggest is the the hackers can atleast get to a server and try to brute force his way in.

IMO, a ip restriction will preempt much of this.

Already exists with AuthHost.

The OP was talking about restricting parts of the machine once a user is logged on and the correct answer is what redge posted.
