Linux Support

Post by bhase »

Your version of VNC kicks all others!!!

1. When are you going to provide a Linux version of your most excellent UltraVNC???? I hate all the linux version out there right now. No standard file transfers

2. Please remember the directory I was in last on the local and remote file transfer windows. I use it a lot but I have to keep walking the directory tree each time I send/receive somthing.

3. Some "Command Prompt" / "Cygwin" / or VmWare windows do not receive a double click properly and do not always update properly when viewed remotely with UltraVNC.

Thanks,

Bill

Do any of the Linux VNC viewers support MS Login authentication?

if any would, then I am thinking the one by the maker of x11vnc would be the most likely too.

but i'm not sure (and can't remember what its name is.)

ssvnc claims to support mslogon, but I can't get it to do anything but complain that it doesn't recognize the authentication type.

UltraVNC server side
Registry forceguest is set to 0

Domain Policy that only allows NTLMv2 authentication. It seems VNC talks back to the Domain controllers with NTLMv1.

Set it to:
Clients use NTLM authentication only and use NTLMv2 session security if the server supports it; domain controllers accept LM, NTLM, and NTLMv2 authentication

Thanks for the reply. With the target machine configured to require MS Logon, I can connect with UltraVNC from Windows or with VncThumbnailViewer from Linux (Fedora 10). Ssvnc can't authenticate. I think I need to take this question to an ssvnc forum. (VncThumbnailViewer seems rather buggy under Linux.)

Yes, about a month or so ago I added UltraVNC MS-Logon support to the dev version (1.0.23) of SSVNC (Unix and MacosX viewers only):

I have had trouble finding people to help test this UltraVNC MS-Logon feature. Any additional testing would be appreciated.
