Specify Session 1 in Service mode for RDP/virtualization

Postby Remote_Mike » 2015-07-10 18:53

I have many Windows OS instances virtualized as guest Operating Systems. I have UltraVNC configured both in "service" and "user" mode as is described here: http://forum.ultravnc.info/viewtopic.php?t=27080#p82255

Session 0, the console session is rarely used, and when it is it is always through the host's management tool. Hence there is no reason for the "service" instance to attach to "Session 0".

There is the unsolved UAC issue with this setup as "user" mode cannot perform UAC functions on the RDP Session 1. This is a major pain!

I'd like to simply have an ultravnc.ini config file option that specifies the starting Session # - which would default to 0.

I could change the "session" parameter to "session=1" to tell the server to attach to session 1 instead of 0.

I suspect this may be a cat and mouse issue because the "service" instance may not be able to attach to Session 1 until the session is actually created. I suppose one could work around this by starting the service after the RDP session has been created.

Is this something that could be implemented with little effort?
