No Mouse Input

Post by Shmee »

At my company we have rolled out version 1.0.8.2 of UltraVNC through a custom .msi.

For most computers this went very well; however, some computers would not allow mouse input. It didn't matter if we hit Ctrl-Alt-F4 checked or unchecked disable inputs or manually updated the .ini.

After playing around with it we found that Ctrl-Alt-Del worked and that we could use the arrow keys on the remote computer, and the user would notice that the mouse was moving (though they said it seemed erratic).

After searching the forums I found no solutions except changing settings which as I said I tried, so to just try it out I swapped the winvnc.exe from the 1.0.8.2 install with one from a 1.0.6.5 install and low and behold it worked.

I am looking for similarities between the computers that don't work but I haven't found many eg(different style laptops and desktops) and computers with the same configuration work with no problems.

It is very strange out of the 200 computers that I rolled this out to maybe 5 don't work.

Any help you could give would be great.

Do the computers that have the problem have 2 monitors? It looks like if you have 2 monitors it kills the mouse.

Thanks that did the trick. It did not even occur to me that the reason it was failing was due to the primary monitor being on the right side. I guess since I was logging on remotely I did not know.

When will this version be packaged as a as part of the installer?

i should learning create package uvnc with new installer open source instead actual closed source.
i can't plane a date... since i have zero knowledge about installer.
roja2 user found and made the new package for uvnc but never share it. shame.
