Keyboard mapping issue

Post by geohei »

Hi.

I have Ubuntu 9.10 running with VMware 7 on a WinXP SP3 host machine (box1). VMware 7 has an included VNC server implemented. I access this computer via another WinXP SP3 remote machine (box2). I have a german keyboard on both box1 and box2. I use UltraVNC Client on box2 to access Ubuntu 9.10 on box1.

When I use UltraVNC from box2 to work with Ubuntu 9.10 (running as guest on VMware 7 / box1) , special characters as "", "¤", "|", ... (all via AltGr key) aren't displayed. Also it's a qwertz keyboard although I use a qwertz one.

How can I manipulate the keyboard mapping of UltraVNC.

Thanks,
aruzsi

Hi,

I've got the similar problem with Hungarian keyboard.
Server is SuSE (SLES11, SLED11, oSuse 11.2, 9.3)
Client is XP SP3.

Server and client are both Hungarian. The keyboard is almost useless if I want to use special Hungarian letters or signs like \|@& etc.

Is there any solutions? Or not?

TIA,

I have similar issue:
- VNC server is a Mac OS X box
- UltraVNC client installed on Win 7x64

I'm using an AZERTY keyboard, but the mapping of uVNC is QUERTY.
I've seen an option for Japanese keyboard in the settings, but we need to be able to use non-English QWERTY keyboards
