[solved] Remote cursor shown at wrong position

Post by hdsander »

Server (x64) and viewer (win32) are both version 1.0.8.2

The server is running on Windows 7 (64bit) with a 1920x1080 screen, the viewer on a Windows XP (32bit) with a 1400x1050 screen.

The mouse cursors, local and remote, are shown correctly at the same position for the Windows 7 desktop.

Within some applications, e.g. iTunes, the locally shown cursor is at the wrong position.

All works well as long as I select "Don't show remote cursor". In any other case the remote cursor is shown upper left from the correct position. Both positions are identical in the upper left screen corner and the error increases with the distance to that point.

When the cursor moves outside of the application window both positions are identical again.

do you use DPI 120 pixels instead classic 90 DPI (default) ?
you could try replace your actual winvnc witht the new one.
added url to download file of winvnc built date 12 December 2009

I indeed have different DPI settings and the new winvnc.exe works excellent.

Thanks for the fast answer, the good analysis and the solution.
