Cisco SSL VPN, VNC plugin issue

Post by MetalFRO »

Has anyone been able to successfully connect to an UltraVNC Server using Cisco's SSL VPN plugin for VNC connections? I currently have UltraVNC 1.0.8.2 deployed on nearly every PC in my organization for support purposes, as well as most of my servers. I use RDP to support my 2008 boxes, and a handful of my 2003 boxes, but I like to use VNC for PCs so I can remotely support folks, as well as for servers that have pesky software & processes that aren't yet written as services, so they require a logon to the console session.

As such, I was hoping to leverage the VNC plugin I found to install on my ASA 5520 device. I have been able to successfully connect to a RealVNC server installed on a vendor support Windows Server 2003 box we have in-house, but I've been unable to connect to any UltraVNC server-installed machines. Has anyone else tried this or had any success? Obviously I can RDP to a server and then VNC from there if I need to in order to get by in the meantime, but it'd sure be nice to use the native plugin for quick JAVA-based VNC connections to assist a user when I'm not at home or on a PC with my Cisco IPSEC VPN Client software loaded (like if I'm visiting family). Any help would be appreciated, thanks! :)

I can try that, but obviously I'm not wild about updating the VNC version on ALL workstations & servers if this works :D

However, I can update a couple as a test-bed and see if it has any effect.
