remote desktop resolution

Post by MyD0j0 »

Sorry if this has been asked/answered, but search kept giving me a sql error:

SQL Error : 1153 Got a packet bigger than 'max_allowed_packet' bytes

DELETE FROM uvnc_phpbb_search_results WHERE session_id NOT IN ('0001491e284dfa28ff49eb48da464a27',...yadayadayada)

any way, on to my question...

I'm running vino in ubuntu linux 10.04 and connecting using ultravnc viewer 1.0.8.2. Not to mention a noob with linux and ultravnc. While the connection is good and I'm even using remotely to post this topic, the resolution of the remote desktop is disconcerting. In vnc, the resolution is either so small that text is difficult to read or so large that it requires scrolling to do anything on the desktop. I've looked through the connection options, but there doesn't seem to be much to manage the remote desktop's resolution; Full screen, half screen, etc seems to only zoom the desktop. Is there a way to match the exported display to the monitor located with the machine running the viewer?

Thanks!

Thanks, redge, I appreciate the info...

I wound up using xrdp and getting what I wanted out of the box.
