[solved]Instead of blank monitor, display message on screen

[solved]Instead of blank monitor, display message on screen

Postby RossIV » 2011-01-26 05:49

Hi!
Is there a way with UltraVNC to display a message on the screen of the computer that is being controlled? Kinda like the remote monitor-shut off and disable remote input, but still disable input, but show an image or text on the screen?

Thanks!
Ross

save a picture, should be true .bmp file (not just .ext)
you can't change the name, only background.bmp allowed.

http://www.uvnc.com:8080/docs/uvnc-server.html
BlankMonitorEnabled=1
This allow the viewer to blank the screen
CaptureAlphaBlending=1
Capture alphaBlending is needed for semi transparent windows
( xp, vista...) but use more cpu.
BlackAlphaBlending=0
Instead of using the powermanager to blank the monitor we put
a layered window on top and capture the windows below. Using
this option you also can define a custom blank by placing a file
"background.bmp" in the ultravnc folder.

What do you mean by the "uvnc" folder? C:\Program Files\UltraVNC?
I have Capture Alpha Blending and BlackMonitorEnabled enabled in admin option. I made the BMP, but it does nothing.

yes, uvnc = ultravnc

do you use mirror driver ?
it fail with mirror driver, background.bmp is ignored

but maybe it fixed, could you try uvnc 1.0.9.5 ?
i can't check, i won't use mirror driver.

I got it working - forgot to change one of the things. And no, I don't use the mirror driver.
This makes UVNC just that much more awesome!:D
