With ZERO notice and only 7 days' grace, LogMeIn has discontinued its Free offering. I personally know of a dozen people using it for personal and business use; both had been allowed. The first announcement was today; as of this writing the service terminates on 1/28/14. They didn't even e-mail their users about it, if my personal account is any indication.

Apparently this affects all users of "free" licenses, including PAID users of LogMeIn Central and LogMeIn Ignition. That is, the PAID products can no longer do what they used to do.
A year or two ago they reduced their "Free" offering to a very reasonable 10 station limit, but this is the end of the service. (It was great of them to offer it for so long.)
Again, they did this WITHOUT reasonable notice, and thousands of people are going to be screwed. And it couldn't occur at much of a worse time, as the Northeast is currently getting over a foot of snow.
My company has a paid LogMeIn Central / LogMeIn Pro setup with many Pro licenses and just a few Free licenses, across servers and workstations. We will NOT renew our contract, based on their piss-poor handling of this discontinuation. I've already discussed it with my CFO. (Replacement suggestions are welcome. I never much liked GoToMyPC.) In fact this move calls into serious question their ethics and stability.
The point here is that if supercoe or Rat or anyone else has a terrific new version of ChunkVNC in the chamber or up a sleeve, this would be a GREAT time to unleash it on the world!
Good luck, and happy new year.
