I posted this problem last week. I installed version 1.0.9.1 & that seemed to fix this problem at first, but that was temporary. Now the problem is back.
I have version 1.0.9.1 of UltraVNC installed on a host & 2 client computers, all are running Windows XP Pro with all current SP & patches. When I try to log in to one of the clients, I get the following message:
"vncviewer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..."
It happens about 95% of the time. Most times once it happens it doesn't matter how many times I try to log in, I keep getting the same message & can't log in. Sometimes it will happen once, then it will work when I try the next time. Once in a while it doesn't happen at all. I have tried Uninstalling UltraVNC & removing everything from the registry on both computers, then rebooting & installing it again. I still have the problem.
The client that this happens to most is a laptop in a docking station that is basically a "headless client" (has no monitor). Is there anything I need to set in the registry or some configuration that I can do to fix this problem?
I have little or no problems with the other PC that is running UltraVNC.
Oh, I was told to install version 1.0.9.2 or something, but I couldn't actually find anything higher than 1.0.9.1, so if there's another version I could try, please let me know how I can find that & I'll install it & see if that helps.
Thank you for any help I can get.
