One example is the name with hyphens (e.g. TEST-PC) - the repeater takes the part before the first hyphen as the host name (TEST in this example) and tries to resolve it (no wonder that it fails). Probably it is related to splitting the supplied name to "comment" and host name - but in this case I think that the delimiter has to be adjustable (via WebGUI for example).
I have the same problem

Seems the problem is caused by adding comment as -comment to the hostname.
This makes it impossible to differentiate between -commont or - in the hostname.
Gonna replace it by + , this isn't allowed as hostname.

The default password for the web interface to repeater 2011 is now (version 2012-01-24) 'adminadmin' instead of only 'admin' which is what the documentation states.

Fortunately I could find the default value by examining the source code. Was this change intentional? :-)

Hi,

Just started to look into this and this is really awesome.

I was looking at the web interface and it really is a good idea.

Im only just now starting to learn and follow this software.

I want to know if it would be possible to show the current connected pc name under "connection from" instead of the ip.

Also is there some kind of way to use php to make the interface and call the information?

Excuse my English i am not english :P

Thanks

Rudi,

I'm trying to customize the web interface.
The settings are not showing-I'm assuming the buildfs.exe needs run first?

I've done that and receive warnings, but still doesn't work.

Looking to add customer fields, change the logo, title bar, etc.

Thanks in advance.

buildfs create c files.
You still need to compile the source. Possible some extra vars need to be added.
I know it's complex and it also took a lot of time to create the current simple interface.
This was made in 2011... can't remember exact.

More info can be found on the project page of the embedded web pages.
This part of the source is a modified version ( a lot of bugs removed)

Hi there :)
I'm trying to cook Repeater in mode 2 with last version of UltraVNC Viewer. And it works fine except one thing. I'm trying to add some "security" with comments. But when I enable option "Use comment as extra viewer check" in web interface viewer stops connecting with the same error "Connection failed - End of Stream". The convention ID-TEST:1234 doesn't work now?

Hello,
It looks as if this may be a dead project of sorts, but I'm interested if there is any development going on with it? I'm interested in the repeater aspect of it and if the newest iteration supports SSL and is there any documentation on how to get this working?

Here's my situation:
I have remote servers that I need to administer.
- I need to encrypt the communication via SSL (that way it doesn't get blocked by the firewall IE has to look like HTTPS traffic) <-- Mainly through the server to repeater connection
- I need a proxy (externally hosted in the interwebs) to broker the connectivity
- I need the server to maintain connectivity to the proxy/repeater
- I need a webUI to see the available servers to connect to

Basically I need an opensource PCAntwhere, GoToMy PC - teamviewer

So, with that tall order, UVNC with the repeater is perfect for what I want to do!! I have successfully set it all up and have it working very nicely except for the SSL portion. If there is any life in this project any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

SSL would require that the repeater encrypt incoming and decrypt outgoing data because you need 2 ssl connections ( server+viewer)
This would also mean
-that all data is unencrypted on the repeater pc.
-repeater pc need to do a dual encrypt/decrypt

The uvnc encryption plugins encrypt data between server and viewer, the repeater does not decrypt enything and just forward encrypted data.

The SSL https is not supported as we find a repeater with internal unencrypted data a security risk.

Rudi,
Thank you for the information. That clears a few things up for me!
I have tried using the encryption plugins, however have not had any luck at it yet. Any gotya's that I should look out for?
Once I can get that portion running I'm going to focus on the possibility of using stunnel in conjunction with the repeater and see if that would do the trick.
