Help with "Enable Blank monitor on user request"

Hey guys, I am trying to figure out if the "Enable Blank monitor on user request" will work on a VM? When I enable this and connect from my mobile device, the screen never changes or goes blank. I have this v1.0.9.6.2 installed on a Windows 7 Home VM. Will / should this work on a VM?
