Remote screen turned bluish and nearly unreadable

Post by cjholly »

I just upgraded to the latest version. Installed the add-ons on both ends (exc Win8 stuff). Running Win 7 on both ends. When I connect to the UltraVNC server on the remote computer, the screen is bluish and very difficult to read. I keep trying different color settings when I reconnect, but I am not seeing any change. It had been working mostly fine before I upgraded (except for disconnects which could be due to a poor quality DSL line). Any suggestions? --Chris H

I later turned off mirror driver on server end and it works pretty good. Some odd colors, but manageable. It does not like my double-spacebar key activation sequence for ActiveWord anymore, but I can adapt to that. --Chris H

I turned off the mirror driver on the server end and that resolved most of the problem. One odd color and it does not play will with my ActiveWord doublespace activation shortcut. Otherwise seems fine. --Chris

What you see is the u2 encoder. This is a jpeg encoder with the known jpeg artifacts.
The mirror driver sometimes behave bad on certain 16bit color systems. 16 bit can be RGB/GRB or 555 565.
If the mirror driver doesn't match the real video card you get wrong colors
