Manual
The same executable is used on server and viewer, If you want to share your desktop you need to tell the accesscode and password to the remote.
1) [Loop test], only for testing, server and viewer start on the same PC ( accesscode and passwd does not need to be entered)
2) [connect] you need to enter the REMOTE access-code and password
3) [Show Desktop] Take control of the remote desktop
4) [Chat / FT] Chat open as a seperated app, run independed of the "show desktop" FT is done by dropping a file on the chat window.
Remote user get a popup when FT is done and need to indicate the requested destination folder. ( data is initial placed in the temp folder)

Tech
*Encryption AES 256
*password is verified insite the enryption stream, password is only valid for one connection and change each run
( using dbl click you can copy the the accesscode and passwd to the clipboard)
*Direct viewer/server connections, no need to send data over a repeater
*Access is initiated by our connect servers, they act like a dyndns service
*Both server and viewer can be behind a NAT router.
* nat2nat is done using Udp hole punshing ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UDP_hole_punching )

We tried to make something as simple as possible, have fun

Wow! Nice application.

I did a quick test and found a couple issues.

For whatever reason my app window doesn't show the full values for Access Code or Password because they don't fit inside the window. The fields aren't selectable so I can't copy the text either. I do not know how to upload images to the board so I cannot show a screenshot currently.

Also, I'm not sure if this is possible, but is there anyway this can run without requiring elevation in Windows 7/8?

Thanks for the feedback

*This version use a compiler that require xp> ( win 2003 is also kp)
*elevation is not needed, but like all other versions you can not control elevated windows.
( If you run on elevated and you open a single levated window, all input is blocked)
*Font size, i guess the display size ( 100%-150%) you can select have an influence.

I will make some other test builds.

Thanks for a good alternative. It would be great if we can run the software on our own software and be able to customize the software. Any plans and time frame?

First test is just a technical test, is it working, gui etc...

Later, some customization file can be added that allow to change text/logo and define your own connect servers.

From security point we consider the data send to the connect servers public. The auth en encryption
mechanism need to keep this in mind.

I can see the Access Code and Password perfectly now. I was also not prompted for UAC. Excellent!!!

Would it be possible to make the code and pw selectable so it can be copied and pasted (for an email for example)? It's obviously not important, but a time saver if it wasn't too difficult.

Starting in Windows Vista, Static text controls automatically copy their contents to the clipboard when you double-click them if you set the SS_NOTIFY style.
So indeed, this isn't working on XP, XP controls doesn't know SS_NOYIFY...and nothing is copied to the clipnoard.

This vesion will not be made as service.
The goal is something without settings as simple as possible.

The engine is the same as pchelpware rc3, this has a service.

Access-code is generated random on first run, next time you start it the same code is used.
The password is changed each run and always in the same format (4 - 4)

It's not possible to change it.

I tried connecting from my Windows 7 PC to a Windows 8 VM (I used the Win8 exe for the VM), however I keep getting "Access refused by user no answer..."
I get this after I click the show desktop button.

The loop back test worked fine.

Some thoughts:
- Making the access codes easy to copy and paste will be helpful for remote support
- allowing a fixed code and the ability to run as a service would be awesome!

dbl click/ ctr-c to copy code : Vista>=
code is fixed ( first time it's saved to a temp file), the password differ for each run

VM:
It depend on how the network has been setup.
Make sure the vm win7 is direct connected to your internal network and not nat after nat.

internet ( nat router) (vm nat router) win7 FAIL
internet ( nat router) vm (direct connect) win7 OK

I get the same issue that markmcjr is seeing but I am physical win 7 to physical win 8 on my internal network.

I can connect win 7 to win 8. But I cannot connect win 8 to win 7.

On the win 7 machine I never get the chat box pop-up with the message from the win 8 machine. If I connect from the win 7 machine to the win 8 machine the pop-up message goes through and I connect a-ok.
