Remote Multi-monitor with different DPI

Post by lwinstead »

I'm using Windows 10 x64 Build 1607 on my laptop, and running UltraVNC 1.2.11 x64. I'm connecting to a remote Windows 10 laptop that has an external monitor attached. The laptop's DPI setting is at 125%, and the external monitor's DPI is set to 100%. When I have UltraVNC show me all monitors (Click "Select Full Desktop"), I have mouse pointer problems on the external monitor. If I keep my mouse over the laptop portion, there's no pointer position problem, but if I move my mouse over the external monitor portion, the remote mouse pointer sees the incorrect position and behaves like my mouse is a few inches to the right or left.

I assume this has to do with the remote system having different DPI settings for the screens attached. Is there anything I can do within UltraVNC to combat this and make it track my mouse correctly? Or will I have to enforce a uniform DPI setting on my remote computers?

Sorry for the long-winded post, but I don't see much of anything on this issue and I don't know how detailed I need to be to explain it. Thanks!
