UltraVNC 1.8.0.X - Feedbacks

UltraVNC Viewer: 1.8.0.4
UltraVNC Server: < 1.8.x
- Unicode is disabled as UltraVNC Server doesn't support it
- ANSI mode, does not support international chars

This behave the same as a UltraVNC Viewer 1.4.x or 1.6.x
You see ?????? instead of chars and natural ??? isn't find to copy at all.
Normal both sites need to support unicode to make it work.

UltraVNC 1.8.x <-> 1.8.x needs to work, that was the whole goal of all Unicode changes... I will verify this again.

I ask for info, in previous versions there was a file called setpassword.exe, now from cmd how do I set the password without going through the graphical interface?, registry key? or something else?

Folder FT is fixed: 1.8.0.5 was not transferring folders.

@stefanorossetti: The password is still in ultravnc.ini.

That's now in %ProgramData% and not longer in the %ProgramFiles% folder.

setpasswd sets the password in the current folder, for now, you need to copy it, temporary, to the same folder as ultravnc.ini, setpasswd still require a change.

1.8.0.6 (Win 10 RU) -> 1.8.0.6 (Win Server 2022 RU)

If you enable both the "International keys" and "Alternate keyboard" options on the server side, the following occurs:
- After restarting the server, Viewer displays "End of stream" when attempting to connect, after which it stops connecting altogether, as if the server is down;
- The WinVNC service is running on the server, but the tray icon disappears;
- Restarting the service has no effect;
- Disabling one of the options and restarting the server service changes nothing; only restarting the entire OS helps. After this, Viewer starts connecting.

P.S.
Leaving only "International keys" enabled works fine, but the layout is non-standard (some letters are doubled, including the key with "."/")
"Alternate keyboard" (formerly "Japanese keyboard") provides the correct layout.
It's not entirely clear what the exact difference is...
