I would like to set up a PC so that when I connect to it from a remote location I can use my local printer to print. Kind of like Remote Desktops option to use local resources.
Is this possible, I know you can do this with GoToMyPC, but that costs $30 a month.
Im thinking all I have to do is set up my local printer on the remote PC and configure a port to use my IP address and some port. Any ideas? I use Dynamic DNS as well if that makes a difference.
So maybe.. on the remote PC install new printer, configure the port as myname.kicks-ass.net:????
Thanks! Hope I can get this going, thats would be +$30 a month for me

Printer + VNC
for LAN to LAN only, because port sharing files and printer is filtered from your broadband router/NAT/firewall for security holeSo maybe.. on the remote PC install new printer, configure the port as myname.kicks-ass.net:????

between windows to windows
for only remote control (nobody at front of remote computer)
you can use Remote Desktop Client with print and files sharing on XP Professional
But there another software supporting remote printing support for cheaper price.

Ahh, ya I would have to let the person using the PC not be interupted (share the PC) and print from it. I hear there is a hack that you can do with remote desktop to allow multiple users to access a windows machine by somehow enabling fast user switching, so I could be loged on remotely, but some one could log on there account at the same time localy. Ill do a lil research, if anyone has a specific link, that would be great.
