Local rights after login with AD user

Post by bvranken »

What are the rights of a user who loges in with his AD account. In uvnc itself you can choose for interactif or viewonly but will the AD rights also be actif. for example If i give a normal user the interactif rights in VNC will he be able to install(does not have this rights in AD) software? Hope this explains my question.

Re: Local rights after login with AD user

Post by JDaus »

From what i understand, and i may be wrong, but here goes anyway ....

UVNC uses windows logons (AD or local) just for authentication purposes.

The username/password that is used to logon to the target machine is the defining factor as to what permissions you have on the target machine.

In other words, UVNC doesnt look at what group you login with (and thus what priviledges you have), but only whether the U/P is valid on the Domain / localhost.

Hope this is correct, and clears things up.
