I have problem. VNCserver is on WinXP, and VNCviewer is on Win95. When I try to logon from win95 to winXP is requires username . What does is mean? If I try to login from win95 to Win2k, o Nt it's ok, I need only password. What user name should I write?
There is an option in UltraVNC to use MS-Logon authentication instead of the password-only vnc method.
This can be activated with "Require MS-Logon" (and "New MS-Logon") in the UltraVNC Admin Properties page.
The groups and users that are allowed to access can be configured with "Configure MS-Logon Groups".
It seems that this is activated on your WinXP, but not on Win2K.
Have a look in "Configure MS-Logon Groups" to see which groups and users are configured on your WinXP.
