Can't control, see yes, control no

Post by pfo »

Hello,

I'm testing Pchelpware.

I have a local network, and I want to test it as the viewer was in the local network and the server outside this network (like I'll do when I have to help friends)

So I use one repeater for testing (like repeater01.ultravnc.info, uvnc.com, etc)

I start the client, send the server to other PC and launch it.

On the client (vista) I can see the server screen (xp sp2) but I can't cotrol it.
I mean, on the client side I see the server screen but when I click on a link (like start) nothing happens on the client side. On the server side I see the mouse mooving and I see the start menu being open

Any idea why ? it's like on the client side the display wasn't refresh !

Also, if I want to use PChelpware for my customers whom have a lot of different configds, the best way is to use a repeater no ?

So does the repeater can be in my local network or does it have to be install on a server somewhere in the wan ?

Do I absolutly have to buy a VPS or something like this just to install the repeater ?

Thanks

Pascal

almost seems like you are connecting then getting disconnected for some reason. Make sure nothing is blocking the outgoing traffic on the server.

Repeater is a very good option so you can provide support wherever you are but you can make it a direct connection. You would need to port forward the pchelpware ports to the viewer machine though

The repeater will have to have wan access to ports to work via the internet

I would use a repater but it has to have access with its working ports to the internet..
