Backup solution routine through UltraVNC transfer. Plugin?
A plugin or feature to do automated backups and synchronize files
between UltraVNC servers would be really, really nice.
I know there is probably other solutions, but its nice to have
an all-in-one thing.
If not a feature then it would be a great idea for a plugin!
In the networks I manage every single computer has ultravnc on it.
Makes support so much easier, but would be nice to be able to backup certain files from each to a central location, or elsewhere.

Re: Backup solution routine through UltraVNC transfer. Plugi
Amen to that...PCAnywhere in its DOS versions had a great and simple batch file interpreter with some remote control specific commands that made things happen on the server or the remote. The pointyclicky people since removed that functionality and it was missed so much I went to VNC, having lost the main attraction of PCA.
Since very often one wants to back up the same files time after time, it makes sense to be able to specify them in a list format rather than having to point and click for every file and every directory, source and destination.
If the VNC file transfer system were able to generate and save that list as an editable text file, based on the source and destination files selected in the current transfer window so much the better. Best of both worlds.
I just think having to navigate the transfer windows and select the files afresh each time you want to back up remotely is a time waste. My vote for the next tranche of development is for an improved file transfer system
