UltraVNC 1.0.5 installer should upgrade 1.0.2

Post by cowazeck »

Hello,

I've seen on this forum a lot of people - and I'm one of those - trying to upgrade the previous stable version (v1.0.2) to the current stable version (v1.0.5).

I'm surprised that the installer doesn't manage the upgrade... I think the least the installer should do is a basic upgrade from one stable release to another!

I think this is the developer's job and not every-sysadmin-on-earth's job to do it...

Can you imagine if every user on the planet had to do things manually or redoing the installer to go from Firefox 2.x to Firefox 3.x?

Like other people here I need to upgrade around 300 workstations and I'm honestly not very motivated to do something that should come upstream.

Is there any hope to see a 1.0.5x installer upgrading a 1.0.2 installation?

Regards,
