Repeater fit for Vista/2008?

Post by Prisma »

Any chance to get modifications on repeater.exe/distributer.exe? Bringing him into the next generation of operating systems?

Noticed following under Vista/Server2008:

The repeater started as service or started as planned task at system bootup has not interaction to desktop / no systemtray icon / no way to get information about connection state or anything else...

Of course not, it's a feature of Vista/2008. Interaction between service and desktop is hardly possible. But let's take a textfile e.g. ... one side writes connectiondetails in that textfile, the otherside (the trayicon) reads these information not exclusively... and tada, problem solved.

I'd write a tray-icon application myself, that reads and displays the repeaters logfiles... but actually the repeater writes many, many log files about completed connections for each connection. But details like in the "console"-window, he doesn't write.

Any chance to get modifications the next months, rudi?

When i change the repeater is wil be by embedding a http interface, this
once solve the issue for all current and upcoming OS's and we also have some remote managment :)

Only...
November and begin december are crazy.
Need to travel a lot, and can't work on uvnc when i'm not home.

Great idea Rudi!!
We are looking forward for this feature. If you have a Beta, let us know... we'll test it in our VMs and in our live-systems.

Thank you for all!!
