Since I installed UltraVNC I get the following error message when trying to log into Remote Desktop (RDP)...

"The Remote Computer has ended the connection".

It loads up the login screen, it asks me for the username and password, it allows me to logon, and starts loading the windows, then the error appears with an OK/Help dialog window, after pressing OK, it closes.

I've only started getting this error since I installed UltraVNC server on the machine in question.

I tried uninstalling some recent software, and restarting.

This seemed to fix it for a while, but now it's happening again.,,

Bump.

I'm still not sure what the issue is here...

Does UltraVNC and RDP share anything in common at all?

Thanks.

Trying a few more times I get this error:

Quote:
The remote session to the remote computer was ended by means of an administration tool.
Your administrator might have ended your connection.

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc780927.aspx#BKMK_6

Quote:
Cause: The most common cause of this error is that the server administrator needed to perform maintenance tasks on the terminal server. These tasks can be performed only when there are no remote connections to the terminal server.

Solution: Try to reconnect at a later time. If you receive the same message, contact the server administrator.

Of course, this didn't help... Any other ideas?

I'm having the same problem. Did you ever find a solution?

No, it seems I'm still having this problem.

However, I'm not sure it's related to UltraVNC so I may have to direct my investigation elsewhere.

I'm seeing this error from the source TermServDevices...

Driver spam ML-4500 Series required for printer !!primo!spam ML-4500 Series is unknown. Contact the administrator to install the driver before you log in again.

Perhaps it's just that... but what is strange is sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't and only since I installed UltraVNC WinVNC 1.0.5.

This does appear to be a problem with ultravnc and rdp. They must have conflicting auth methods.

Since i've removed it from my machine i've had no problems.

Update to 1.0.8.2, I can use RDP and UltraVNC at the same time.
