Remote Control instead of logon

Post by jsulliv1a1957 »

I have just upgraded to V1.0.8.2, on a windows 7 computer and when I attempt to view a user, I get a logon instead. If this is by design Ultra VNC is useless, because I could RDP instead

Is there a setting that I should have so that I can interact with the user on their session.

What kind of "logon" are you getting? Of course you're aware that VNC is password protected by default? Once you you've authenticated to the UltraVNC server you should have full control of the remote screen(s).

(please don't cross-post)

I am in the same boat with 1.0.8.2.
I have used UltraVNC for years and now with Win 7 x64 I get a Windows log on screen. To be clear (I hope) about what happens:
Launch viewer.
Respond to UVNC password request.
Instead of seeing the server's screen I get a demand fro ctrl-alt-del similar to my usual Windows log on screen.
At that point the CAD button for UVNC gave a permissions error.
I have found that adding cad.exe to the PF folder allows me get past that error and log onto the server kicking the current user off; just as RDP would. I use UVNC to help users interactively. I can't be kicking them off.

This is how v1 works ( vnc always connect to the console session)

In v2, vnc connect to the active session ( console or RDP).
