VNC Listener (colordepth)

Post by Vinzz »

Hello,
Maybe I asked this already, but can't find it somewhere...

Is it possible to implement an option so the vncviewer in LISTEN mode will connect with a server at 8bit colordepth. As now the colordepth is auto and changes all the time, and this takes several seconds to update screen with the new automatic setting.

Try this, it's what I run here at the office:

vncviewer.exe /8Bit /dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin.dsm /listen 5500

Note: I use the encryption plugin, that's the MSRC4plugin.dsm line. Remove that if you don't use it. Use the exact spacing between lines and it should work. :D

8bit?

Nah, it ignores 8bit color! Listener starts but when connecting a client the thisplay is fullcolor.
I thought I tried that one...

When I use it and then have a client connect to me, I then right click on the top bar and select connection info and it says desktop geometry: 800x600x8.

I do also notice a speed increase using it. If I take that line out the color is full and the speed is slower.
