Viewer Crashes PCs outside of immediate LAN

Post by erin0201 »

Hi!

We recently installed the uvnc 1.1.9.0 on a couple of our admin computers.
We had issues using uvnc to remote in to some computers. This appears to be computers outside of our subnet.

I don't have time to troubleshoot this, but it would give the error upon connection "Server has closed the connection". And it would disconnect.

I was able to remote in with TightVNC viewer from my computer just fine. It's Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
I was also able to remote in with uvnc 1.0.8.2 just fine from another computer. I just downgraded my version to 1.0.8.2 and it works fine.

I'm not sure what the issue is, but it wasn't there in 1.0.8.2 and TightVNC viewer's newest version works fine as well.

I hope this helps you in looking for bugs. I just use uvnc too much to have a nonworking version on my machine for testing.
Thanks!
Erin

First Question: Which kind of server do you run? uVNC? Which Version? If not uVNC, which RFB protocol is used?

Background:
Newer Versions have changes regarding the RFB protocol. Probably you run into that issue because of a bug appearing only when using a new viewer with an old server. Why not updating the Servers to 1.1.9.0? Are the remote Servers under your control?
