OK, it seems that Advantig have cancelled my RZ licence. Not unexpected behaviour, given your track record, but if you have Advantig, I suggest you reinstate it immediately. If you really believe it is professional, or even remotely acceptable, behaviour to cancel the licences of customers you don't like, you'll be the laughing stock. So fix it.

Can you please keep such stuff in the RemoteZilla support forums?! I really don't like to repeat myself.

Many times when working on a clients PC I will open a program such as Malwarebytes to perform a scan for spyware. Once the program opens I no longer have control of the PC. I can't click on anything on their PC. I can only move the mouse. So, I then have to tell the customer on the phone to close the program so that I can regain control. This has occurred with the last few updates to RemoteZilla.

v2.1.0.0 -

When a customer runs the .exe file they are presented with a message stating that they are using an Un-licensed version of RemoteZilla.

OneClick version 2.0 RC based on UVNC 1.0.6.4 is now available.

Image

It runs in service mode and safe mode on Vista and Win7 and uses the
same helpdesk.txt files and graphics as v1.x (no changes needed).

OneClick v2.0 has been released.

http://www.advantig.com/oneclick -or- http://www.vnchelpdesk.com

---------
Changes
---------

Version 2.0.0.0
---------------

- OneClick now uses UVNC server v1.0.6.4 so it is fully Vista/Win7
compatible in service and safe mode but does not run on Win 95/98/ME.

It's fully compatible with existing OneClick Winvnc SC helpdesk.txt
configuration file settings, graphics, icons and options with no changes.

It installs to the Advantig OneClick v2 folder so you can keep the
old 1.x version installed for Windows 95/98/ME compatibility.

hi pgmoney,

i have seen you use ultravnc 1.0.6.4 for last version of oneclick, but like other 3th part software that use this version, it conflict with ultravnc if it is already installed on the pc as service.

Regard

Ooops, I knew I had forgot something. Thanks for reminding me to re-start the existing uvnc service when the session ends. I'll have it updated today.

It now re-starts an existing vnc when the session ends.

http://www.advantig.com/oneclick -or- http://www.vnchelpdesk.com

The one Rudi is working on is targeted for different user needs, it's smaller, runs on 95/98/ME and by design, it doesn't run as a service or boot to safe mode on Win7/Vista, the full winvnc.exe does.

The end OneClick customer module file size with the supplied winvnc.exe using minimal options is about 550k so I might modify the winvnc to be smaller if I get time. OneClick is designed to let people use their own winvnc.exe file so they can modify, cut and hack out as much as they want.

Any winvnc.exe can be used as long as it's named winvncsc.exe and can accept the command line:

-sc_prompt -sc_exit -autoreconnect [IdCode] -connect [Address]::[Port]

For safe mode/service mode it must process the -install command and read service_commandline in the UltraVNC.ini file.

Version 2.0 build 200908061800

- The -noregistry setting now enables/disables the "SC Prompt" for
the UltraVNC Viewer. If -noregistry is not in the helpdesk.txt file
the server will connect using the standard VNC protocol so it can
connect to non-UltraVNC viewers (TightVNC, Real, Chicken, etc)

OneClick v2.0 build 200908141700

http://www.advantig.com/oneclick -or- http://www.vnchelpdesk.com

- Fixed text not sent using "Send" Button in UltraVNC winvnc.exe

- The -id switch in the helpdesk.txt can now be left blank to prompt
the user for the ID code even if the [DIRECT] or the [ENTERCODE]
tags are not used. If it's not blank, the number is used to
pre-populate the ID code prompt with a default value.
Example: -id -plugin -connect me.myaddress.com:443 -noregistry

- You can now change the wav file played when chat is opened. If you
prefer no sound, delete the Ding_Dong.wav file in the SC Source
folder or change it to what you like. Deleting the wav file will
make the customer module file size smaller as well. The Timer
uses the same file for the bell so changing the file changes both.

http://www.advantig.com/oneclick -or- http://www.vnchelpdesk.com

- Updated the UVNC server (winvnc.exe) to 1.0.6.5

- Fixed a bug that could prevent the non-commercial version from
building customer modules.

- The address and port for the Technician's Repeater Viewer is now
saved from the last build and pre-populated in the dialogs.

OneClick 2.0.1 build 200908192200

http://www.advantig.com/oneclick -or- http://www.vnchelpdesk.com

I think I accidentally put an experimental winvnc.exe with an mpeg4ip encoder in one of the last releases. I re-compiled the setup and put the correct winvnc.exe in it this time so you may need to download the update if you had problems.

OneClick 2.0.1 build 200908211200

http://www.advantig.com/oneclick -or- http://www.vnchelpdesk.com

---------
Changes
---------

- When the OneClick session ends it now re-starts the UVNC service helper (tray icon running as service) on older UltraVNC versions. The winvnc service was always restarted but the tray icon wasn't.

- Replaced the Advantig @ logo on the timer/toolbox icon with a more generic wrench icon.

- Now installs to the Program Files folder if running as a service to enable Ctrl-Alt-Del on Vista/Win7.

http://www.advantig.com/oneclick -or- http://www.vnchelpdesk.com

---------
Changes
---------

Version 2.0.2.0
---------------
- Ask Port now works in Menu Mode or Direct Mode. You no longer need
to use the [DIRECT] tag to use "Ask Port". The ? can be used for
the port number on any [HOST] entry line in your helpdesk.txt file.

- Add an option that allows you to test the WebConfig URL when you
build the customer module.

- The WebConfig URL is now saved from the last build and is
pre-populated in the dialog box.

- Fixed bug preventing "Ask Port" to be used with "WebConfig" on
non-service mode customer modules.

I've been getting requests to make the OneClick SC style menu available as a stand-alone download. I don't know how useful it will be but the links to the instructions and menu program used as the basis for the OneClick menu system are below.

The Menu executable file size is 16k, the zip with all the files is 180k. The zip also contains the instructions pdf.

View Instructions (PDF)

Download the stand-alone SC style menu program for UltraVNC, TightVNC, RealVNC and other VNC programs

Image

Note: It's also used in OneClick for TightVNC and RealVNC which is still in beta so this version will expire at the end of the year.
I'm almost finished with the encryption plugin for TightVNC and when all the features are fully tested I'll release a non-beta version of the menu

I have some questions. What is the difference between OneClick and RemoteZilla?

Is there any way you can include the videohook driver and/or systemhookdll in the executable like PCHelpware? I love pchelpware for this one reason. No driver to install. I think UVNC SC now includes the driver. I just find that without it the remote response is not very smooth and makes everything take longer. For what I do it's a big deal. Yes I realize I can install the video driver once I connect but just not a practical solution for me.

OneClick is an add-on menu system, timer, toolbox and off-line exe creator for the full version of UltraVNC to make it an ad-hoc remote support system like SingleClick that is compatible with SingleClick configuration files but adds some of the features of RemoteZilla and DualDesk. It also adds the option of using web based configuration files, running in service mode, safe mode, built-in system tools and user configurable toolboxes and other features. You can use your own winvnc.exe file with OneClick if you prefer.

You can include the schook.dll or the vnchooks.dll in OneClick but not the mirror driver.

RemoteZilla is stand-alone remote support software that is VNC compatible, not a menu system and not an add-on.

Thanks for the info. Call me stupid but I still don't get it. I have read both product websites and still don't see the difference other than GUI and price. Both allow creation and customization even if they may differ a bit in exactly how that is done. Under the hood it appears to me they are the same product.

Let me try ask the question this way. I would like to do remote support without having to pre-install any software on the customer PC. I want it to be as easy as possible for the customer. Just click and connect and I do the rest. I will need to reboot and then auto re-connect which they both appear to do. I will need to be able to have it un-install when I am done which they both appear to do. The closer I can get to the performance of MS remote desktop or PC Helpware the better. That is what I use now. The problem with PC Helpware is that it does not work on Windows Server and does not run as a service (reconnect on reboot).

Under the hood OneClick uses the UltraVNC server and UltraVNC Viewer. It is controlled from the server side. Advantig is only responsible for and provides support for the portion of the system Advantig developed, not the portion UltraVNC developed so it is cheaper as we have less to support and develop.

RemoteZilla uses the RemoteZilla server and RemoteZilla viewer. It is controlled from the viewer side, has more more options, more features, more tools, has built-in remote start, is half-the size and Advantig is responsible for and provides support for the entire product.

Both are free downloads, the best way to see the difference is to try them both.

Yes they work similar, the reason OneClick exists is to let UltraVNC provide similar features. But just as UltraVNC, RealVNC, TightVNC and RemoteAdministrator (Radmin) also all do the same thing does not mean they are the same under the hood.
