File transfer between two remote computers

Post by orphic »

It would be nice to have seperate file transfer utility besides the VNC viewer that would allow me to transfer files between two remote servers. Right now to do the same thing I have to open the vnc viewer, connect to the first server, use it to establish a connection to the second server, and then use the file transfer from the first server. I imagine a lot of bandwidth could be saved if this feature could be added.

I hear that resuming and delta transfer are being planned, since those are such important features that windows is desperately missing, it would be wonderful if ultravnc could fill in this gap.

Viewer<->viewer filetransfer will be quite hard to implement in a short amount of time.... maybe in V2.

The Resuming/Delta transfer is already implemented and available in the RC19_Test verions. Will be in the upcoming RC19.

Yeah, that would probably take awhile. What if in the regular vewier there was an option to turn off the remote screen and remote control, so someone could focus on just the file transfering component?

Well, this one is also not easy to do, given the current implementation. But I will study it as soon as the v1.0.0 is done.

I mean, even when we'll be working on V2 we'll continue to maintain/improve the v1
