Skeep VNC Console

Post by skeep »

Hi All,

I was looking for some FREE software to remotely deploy UltraVNC and manage the domain computers. I did not find any so I made some :-D

it has the following features:

* Dynamically find servers and create a list that can be clicked to RDP
* Dynamically get a list of computers on the domain and display them
* Deploy VNC to remote computers silently using FastPush
* VNC to remote computers using UltraVNC
* VNC view computers using UltraVNC
* Search List of computers to quickly find a PC
* Ping remote computers at the click of a button
* Computer manage remote computers with a click of a button

You can download it here http://www.skeep.co.uk and it is also on sourceforge here http://sourceforge.net/projects/skeepvncconsole/

Let me know what you think and wether there are any changes you would like to make.

Thanks

Very impressive I like it a lot.

Would like to see usernames currently logged on.

Well done

Thanks Upnorth.

I have been thinking about who is logged on but im not sure how to get the data without bogging the application. Maybe a button to get who is logged on would be useful.

Really i wanted to be able to search for a user and find which computer is logged on.

I smell version 1.1

i read somewhere that it is rather difficult to get a username > computername list from MS Domains (not sure why, or even where i read it) ... if you can get it working, this certainly would be a great feature, and one i am yet to see anywhere else ...

The most obvious way would be to have a script that runs on each computer at logon and then puts this into either AD a database or an XML on a fileshare.

I am working on other projects at the moment but i hope to get back to this soon.

Do you get a chance to input the settings?

It looks like it may be a DNS issue. Is the DNS server IP correct?

Skeep VNC Console version 1.1

Post by skeep »

Hi All,

I have been busy updating the console so that I can search for online users. I have achieved this by using unused AD attributes on computers and logon scripts.

Therefore, in order to use the new console you should deploy the logon and logoff scripts held in the script folder to your users. Then you can simply search for a username.

The program still works without the logon script you just wont be able to search for users.

NEW FEATURES:

- Full AD OU navigation
- Find out who is logged on to a computer
- Search for a username or computer name
- You can now specifiy a port
- choose to show or hide the tray icon
- choose to install the viewer and the start menu.

Hey just a quick question about this.

Onc you disconnect from the remote machine does it shutdown/remove the vnc service or does it leave it running?

At the moment we use dameware trial lol dun even ask but for security reasons we can't leave anything like this running on the user's machines, so what we'd need is something that will shut down the server side after we disconnect.

I've found a simple script written in C++ on sourceforge called EasyRemote that uses xcopy to transfer the file then psexec to run them remotely and it also shuts it down after you close the vncviewer. I've modified it a bit but it's a command prompt tool which looks rather crap tbh so looking for something a bit more professional looking seeing as i'm not the worlds best programmer and not any gui stuff before so don't know where to start lol.

Hi All,

I have released version 1.3 today. It has a lot of changes behind the scenes and therefore, could people please test this version and give me some feedback on the new RDP feature and the deployment of Ultra VNC. You can run both versions side by side.

Skeep VNC Console 1.3 Change Log

[*] Ultra VNC is now the latest stable release 1.5.6 and this is now deployed without fastpush.
[*] RDP window now inside Skeep VNC Console
[*] Link straight to c$ share
[*] Settings screen now has settings for all VNC properties
[*] Log File window to show any errors on installation or connection

Thanks

I just found Skeep and it looks promising.

I have a test setup with server 2003 and Win XP pro sp3 both as virtual machines. The XPP is joined to the domain.

I installed Skeep 1.3 on the server. It is running IE6 and enhanced security is turned off.

Skeep finds the XPP machine when I search and manage, ping and the admin share all work. I click deploy and it errors out with an IE script error:

line 43, char 4
Error: The remote server machine does not exist or is unavailable 'GetObject'
Code 0

UPL file///c:\Program%20Files/Skeep/%20VNC%/20Console/bin/sync.hta

Any suggestions appreciated as to where to look.

Thanks
