I don't know if Windows 7 is supported or not but in any case I tried to put it on a machine.

The server/view work great on Windows 7 without any issue. I can start it up and everything; viewing other computer screen's are no problem from Windows 7.

There is a problem though. When I try to view a Windows 7 computer from a different computer, the viewer will connect and then once connected, it'll present me with a single static screen of what's on the other computer's screen. If the other computer is asleep, I'll see what's on it's screen, but moving the mouse or hitting the keyboard won't make it wake up. So it seems after the initial connection, it's dropped but it does not disconnect.

The computer my viewer is on is Windows Vista 32bit SP1 and I'm trying to connect to Windows 7.
Both computers have everything (view/server/patches/drivers for vista, etc) that came in the 1.0.5.3 release.

Hi there - I fought with the same issue. When you create a VNC connection to a Windows 7 based PC next to the controlling PC, you might see, that the Win7-PC still reacts - thus it means just your (remote) screen is not updated.
I assume in the (server) properties you activated "System Hookdll" and/or the "Video Hook Driver" on the Windows 7 VNC-server?
If you check during a connection the "Check Video Hook Driver", you'll see that it just sais "... inactive". It is installed (if you managed it) but not active.
Uncheck both - "System Hookdll" and also "Video Hook Driver" - and it should work. YES... it IS slower than on a Vista or XP machine with activated Hooks... but I didn't manage it to get it run.
By the way: hit (WITH activated hooks) the "refresh screen" button on the client - if you see then an approprately changed screen - you see that it's just the refresh that doesn't work... and above mentioned solution should let you at least be able to work with it...

I hope, this actually WAS your issue... if so I hope this helped you out..

Kind regards from Switzerland - Christoph

I didn't even know that those check boxes existed before. I didn't have them enabled at all actually. When I did enable them both, the video driver wasn't installed so I just used the SystemHook. That seemed to solve the problem! Thanks for you help!

I also discovered that I had Disable Viewer Input enabled by mistake. That is why I couldn't see my mouse move on the server from the viewer.

Good to know about this. I'm always using system hook and it works for me on Windows 7 beta. It's fast didn't see difference from display driver method.
