not respond if remotely modify winvnc setting on win7 x64
not respond if remotely modify winvnc setting on win7 x64
If I vncviewer to select "install service" in winvnc remotely which is not logging in as administrator, the Win7 x64 asking for administrator password prompt will not be displayed in the vncviewer and the remote control is then totally not working from vncviewer.

Re: not respond if remotely modify winvnc setting on win7 x6
This is how User Account Control (UAC) in Windows Vista/7 works.
Before your Win7 x64 computer will allow the service to be installed it will prompt the UAC secure desktop which a local user will have to control. When UAC prompts the viewer looses control because it can't communicate with an UltraVNC server not running as a service.

Suddenly the remote winvnc keyboard and mouse not working after many changes to the winvnc settings... you may see me from the other post about this. Can't test what you said about the UAC.
Re: not respond if remotely modify winvnc setting on win7 x6
I'm having a similar problem, riow (stuck in view-only behavior). What I had done was test the vncviewer from the 1.0.9.5 beta, and then put back the original 1.0.8.2 viewer in my ChunkVNC viewer directory. I can't imagine what went wrong. Registry weirdness?

B,
I don't believe this user was using ChunkVNC.
Instead it seems they were just running the UltraVNC server as a user and the UAC secure desktop was disconnecting their viewer.
