Error reading Protocol Version

Hi, I am trying to access a PC through a VPN with UltraVNC. If i connect locally on site the connection works, but if I try to connect remotely after I close the VPN connection succesfully and I have a local IP I get an Error reading Protocol Version.
I have checked ports 5800, 5900 and 443, they all seem to be open. The VPN is managed by a sonicwall SMA device but I don't know why the difference in behavior between connecting locally and connecting through a local IP, what could be causing this issue?
