UVncVirtualDisplay Driver - Screen orientation setting change is not maintained post-reboot

Post by kthomson »

Hello,

I am investigating an issue whereby a change to the screen orientation is not maintained following a reboot if the UVncVirtualDisplay display driver is installed.

The issue:
  • Screen is set to landscape orientation.
  • Install the UVncVirtualDisplay driver.
  • Change the screen orientation to portrait.
  • Reboot - The screen orientation is reset to landscape. If I uninstall the UVncVirtualDisplay driver, changes to the orientation are maintained after a reboot.
The questions i have:
  • Does anyone have any experience with this issue?
  • Can anyone comment on how the UVncVirtualDisplay driver interacts with the base Windows orientation API?
  • What Windows API(s) is the UVncVirtualDisplay driver using?

Thanks,
Kevin

The driver get activated deactivated by UltraVNC.
He need to be installed permanent to maintain his settings, but with a risk.
If you set it as primary screen and you can't connect you don't get the logon screen on your physical monitor.

Using the device manager you should be able to install it using the cat/inf files ... It was only during development i used it this way.
