Free network usage when Ultr@VNC window minimized

Post by ruskibombshell »

A handy feature of Windows Remote Desktop Connection (RDC), is that when you minimize the window, no more network traffic is used. In other words, since the view window isn't visible, there's no need to keep transferring screenshots, mouse or keyboard inputs.

Would this be difficult to do? I notice that whenever I view another computer, my network connection is still sending and receiving at 100%, even though the VNC screen is minimized.

Do you use old release UltraVNC ?

UltraVNC send every 60sec a packet refresh for maintain connection between viewer and server, if there nothing, the connection lost.

This is not normal.
With current production UltraVNC viewer, when the viewer windo is minimized, you should get no traffic at all.
