Kan iemand mij in "normale mensen" taal uitleggen hoe ik dat programma aan de gang krijg? Heb al alles geprobeerd en ook alles gelezen hier in het Engels maar krijg er echt nix van mee.

Korte verhaallijn.

*PC op m'n werk wil ik aan kunnen roepen vanuit thuis-pc.
*THUIS; VAST IP adres en zit achter een router van E-tech (portforward reeds gedaan maar weet niet of die correct is).
*WERK; VAST IP adres en zit achter een router van Thomson-Alcatel (Speedtouch) en de portforward moet ook kloppen.
*Zonelabs firewall draait op de WERK pc maar geeft geen melding van een inkomend verzoek / blokkering.

Heb daarstraks met grc.com de poort gecheckt en de 5900 en 5800 staan open voor gebruik met VNC maar staan ook als "closed" vermeld. Snap er nix meer van.

Kan Jemand Mich in "normalen Menschen" Sprache erzählen wie ich dieses program richtig kan configurieren? Habe schon alles versucht und alle "Englische" anleitungen gefolgt aber verstehen immer nur Bahnhof.

Kurzgeschichte.

*PC am arbeitsplatz wil ich bedienen ab mienen HEIM-pc.
*HEIM; Static IP adresse hinter einen router von E-tech (portforward hab ich schon eingestelt aber weiss nicht obs richtig ist).
*ARBEIDTSPLATZ; Static IP adresse hinter Thomson-Alcatel (Speedtouch) router und den portforward soll ja schon gut sein.
*Zonelabs firewall dreht auf ARBEIDSPLATZ aber gibt keine meldung von eingehende verbindungen / verhinderten zugang.

Habe gerade mit grc.com den PORT 5900 und 5800 "gerufen und sie stehen als "geöfnet" für VNC programme aber im weiteren abruf als "closed" registrierd. Ich kriegs nicht hin.

Das Leben ist wie ein Kinderhemd--kurz und beschissen.

anstelle des Portforwardings kannst Du auch NAT-to-NAT oder den Repeater nutzen.

Da ich selbst VNC nur innerhalb eines LANs benutze, habe ich leider keine Erfahrung mit der Konfiguration in Deinem Fall.

I use VNC only within a LAN, so I have no experience with the configuration in your case.

Also die Links hab Ich schon alle ausprobiert nur bekomme nicht mit wo und wie das alles eingerichtet werden sol.

Ich habe bereits eine verbindung hergestelt (Ja, es hat hingehauen!!!) hab aber dabei so die sonstige probleme mit geschwindigkeit und das windows-layout verfärbt sich ab und zu in rosa oder grün und zurück usw.

Auf LAN gehts prima und schnell. Aber wenn du nur ein LAN user bist kast du mich warscheinlich nicht dabei helfen.

Werd mir den tekst (Nat2Nat) noch mal vorknüpfen; seht nicht so schwierig aus wie ich dachte. Aber das werde ich dan nur gebrauchen für die verbindungen nach pc's von Freunden für online support.

Danke doch für das schreiben (endlich mal eine sprache die ich etwas besser behersche als das English-speedtalk welches hier gepflegd wird).

Hallo Minski,

wenn die Verbindung hingehauen hat, ist schon viel erreicht.
Das Problem mit den Farben kommt daher, dass automatisch die Farbtiefe reduziert wird, wenn die Bandbreite gering ist.
Dies ist nur bei Quick Options AUTO der Fall.
Wähle im VNCViewer in Quick Options MEDIUM, und die Farben sind erträglich.
Mit dem Button "Options..." kann noch mehr eingestellt werden.
Die Farbtiefe kann auch während der laufenden Session geändert werden.

Ich mache schon auch Modem-Einwahl, aber das NAT ist da etwas anders.
Pro eingewähltem PC gibt's eine IP-Adresse, die Ports werden nicht verbogen.

If you have strange color effects in the viewer, change Quick Options from AUTO to MEDIUM (or some other sensible setting).
It's also possible to set the color depth in "Options..." in the viewer.
This can even be changed in a running session.

This is all fine and good but I have a problem. Number one I am not on the same level as you are technically so if you could put this into lamens terms for me I would really appreciate it.

As probably many other users, I couldn't agree more. I know (from long experience) how difficult it is to make a text, which is to understand at first reading. When it comes to technical subject, it's even more difficult, because the writer knows what is is writing about, and while writing does not think enough that the reader hasn't a clew what it's all about.

Sorry to tell this : I have been installing dozens of programs but was never ever puzzled as much as with UltraVNC. It is even difficult to make the difference between all the possible files to download (at ultra.vnc.com as well as SourceForge.net)

Different filenames, different formats, different versions.. total confusion.
Untill now I couldn't find a clear and simple explanation. On one document about "versions" the date format is american/englisgh notation.
Don't forget that in some parts of the world the format is not mm-dd-yyyy but dd-mm-yyyy ! So please hold on to JAN, FEB, MAR etc. especially when it comes to version dates.


I had a look at the French download. This is an "exe" file, while the English versions are mostely zipped which is less handy to install.
Is there an equivalent english file ?

Speaking about "remote communications" .... one of the download-files cannot be cannot be read on any of the mirrors ! I tried at least 6 mirrors.

When it comes to using the product, this forum seems to show too many questions (and too many unanswerd).

So UltraVNC isn't as easy as they want us to believe, or this means that documentation needs to be improved a lot. Anyway I encourage the developers to think about this. Thank you.

Meanwhile, I'm not giving up yet. Please wish me luck I will need it... as probably many other users.
